Serial Blogger - I Am Part 1

So I finally saw Julie & Julia - and inspired as I am from Julie Powell I have decided to finally blog. A self-proclaimed critic I will be reviewing serials and movies that I see in the coming days and the important questions that they raise in our mind. The reviews will be to the point and short - but the observations, well I can't take responsibility for them. Will try and make sense at all times - but I don't swear by the Bible. Read at your own risk but it's a risk I'll ensure will be worth taking.

I start my blog with the 4 Star (for sure) ' I AM' by Onir.

Mature, racy and gripping - three words that describe this movie perfectly. Its a compilation of four stories where the characters somehow know each other - the best part the movie does not try to link all the four stories as you would usually expect in a movie with multiple stories. There is no unnecessary mash up which makes the four stories stand out and evolve independently. I Am Afia is about a woman who want to bear a baby without a man after her marriage breaks - I Am Megha is about a Kashmiri Pandit who goes back to Kashmir her routes and relives the moments that forced her family to move out of the valley - I Am Abhimanyu is about a man who suffered child abuse from his step father and the impact that it has had on his personality - finally I Am Omar is about homosexuality before section 377 was legalised by the Delhi High Court and how homosexuals were exploited.

The movie is total value for money as you see four stories for the price of one and a great star cast performing those movies for you.

That was as far as selling the movie to you is concerned - now for the big questions and a few thought from the movie.

1. Can men seriously not be trusted?

Well most women I know would say NO and what I am going to say should not be taken as a defense but the deal is men like women can stray. That does not mean that all men will break your trust. Its just that men are more visibly expressive as can be seen between the legs (that joy of excitement) and so get caught easily. In addition men are more focused when handling one task at a time - give them two women at a time and the devil is already perched on their front door. Women on the other hand know when its time to dispose. You go to a club - chat for a while - get treated to a few free drinks - flirt a bit, ok maybe kiss and then its time to cross your legs and turn to you own house. Every night does not have to be a score that is discussed the next day. Men are competitive - if he did 5 last week - i'll do 6. Women are more pragmatic - she did 5 last week so I will do 6 this week - if I can't do 6 this week then she must be a whore! Men and women both want spice - the difference is women want it in the food and men in bed. You might be pretty, cook well (admit it both sexes know men seek that in women) and interesting - but if a man is left high and dry a little to often then there is got to be trouble. Not that I am saying that the sole role of a woman is to sleep with a man to save her relationship but most men are like pets - they want the owner/women to love them and appreciate them at all times - and being humans men additionally want to be laid (more frequently than pets). Blame it on the 4% working brain - men even those with pot bellies know how to get a girl (no comments on the quality) - so its up to women to ensure that while boys should not have all the fun atleast let the poor things have a good time.
